Costs such as condominium fees vary seasonally in Florianopolis due to the tourism industry.  This is one of the most popular beach destinations in Brazil thus all costs including home ownership are higher here than elsewhere in Brazil.

1) Condominium fees: they are different in summer and in low season, and also vary form condominium to condominium. We know that some condos contract professionals to take care of the children during the summer and they also organize parties. Because of this, considering the differences between places, the fees can vary:

    a) low season: R$ 200 to R$ 500/month

    b) summer: could reach R$ 1.000/month

 

2) Insurance (full): can vary from R$ 35 to R$ 90/month, but the items inside the house must be consider to know the correct price.

 

3) Electricity: R$ 0,47/kwh

 

4) Water: a) minimum price =  R$ 19,10/month

               b) consumption between 10 to 25.000 liters = R$ 3,37/ 1000 liters

               c) consumption higher than 25.000 = R$ 4,67/ 1000 liters

               Plus sewer fee of 80% over the consumption cost

 

5) Property taxes: vary from R$ 40 to R$ 150/month
